Another 100hp please
I have a 92fd with apexi power fc, fmic. cat back exhaust, air filters, BOV and its supposed to be street ported.
Im kicking out about 320 horse power say..
I have been thinking of single turbo conversion but im not spending 7-10 thousand $
My next target is for a reliable 420 hp on stock twins with a budget of $2500, What can i do???
What costs, thanks all

Well you won't reach 420 hp on stock twins, and if this car is your dd,which I assume since you say you need it to be reliable,is the extra 100hp really worth the risk of popping your motor? You will be playing with fire, and I don't personally see the point.

The stock twins are your bottleneck here. Im not sure what the max hp numbers are for the stock twins, but when you hit that, reliability is gonna go out the window. If you seriously want to hit those numbers, buy a beater to dd, and take ihavetwins advice.

dont bother with the 99 spec unless you find them used in the for sale section. For 200 less, you can pick up a set of BNR's from rx7store.net if you want to stay sequential.

there are allot of people on this forum that spend more than 10 thousand, and arent even pushing 420 WHP.
If you have only a $2500 budget, you better keep saving up, you cant even turbo a Honda for $2500 bucks.
im not intending to be mean... but good luck...

No it's not Turbo'd
I spent close to $20k for a GT 35/40; Rebuild; V-Mount IC Etc... and Never touched 400 like everybody told me I should "Definitely" Make... with Steve Kan at the reighns... I made 308... and then it blew up weeks later... no no fault of steve's.... (Bad Gas) ....

If you are looking for 400rwhp or above, its most likely not going to happen in sequential form (at least not using the stock sequential system).

Thanks lad i think the cooling and fuel system idea is a good call and its a step to the big single. Do single turbos reduce reliability though? Or generate more problems? Just wouldnt mind a bit extra as im a greedy sod.
thanks

With a single turbo, you'll be able to remove the solenoid rack from the car. So there are many components you would be removing which could potentially (over time) fail.
However, a single turbo (just like the twins) is only as reliable as the tune of the ECU.
Longevity is something else all together. Obviously, engines have a certain runtime that they can maintain with given circumstances (i.e. no matter how well you treat an engine, it still has metal parts running together so its going to wear out eventually). Increasing the performance of the engine is going to shorten its lifespan, but that comes with the territory: You have to pay to play.
If longevity is a concern, then you should leave the car stock.

Don't be a greedy sod with this car, as it will bitchslap you and your wallet in short order if you get impatient with modifying it. As others have recommended, do the reliability mods first, then do plenty of research so that you can decide what mod is best for you after that point, instead of just throwing questions out there and getting scattered suggestions from people who have no idea what position you're in with the car.

Legendary advice,
i am going to uprate radiator and fuel system, temp gauge, shocks, front anti roll bar and then remap the little fellow, see if i can squeeze a few more hp out,
but to be fair it is hitting 100 in 10-11 seconds ish so i shoudl be thankful i have a car that looks like it cost 50k thats a bit quicker than a countach thats rare and only cost me 7000 gbp
