alright, i probably had a snowball's chance in you-know-where during summer of this actually happening, but there was an FD for sale near me that got away here is what it was:

1993 Mazda RX-7 R1. red. manual. 30k miles on new engine/tranny/turbos. asking $12,750

the ad was pulled after like a week. oh well. i guess it left quick so as not to get my hopes up since i cannot afford a PS2 let alone a car right now

That was probably a sweet deal since the turbos/motor etc were all replaced. But you also have to consider how many miles are on the actual chassis. The bushings, control arms, tie rods, rear-end, axels, etc would all need to be carefully inspected, along with any seams between body panels to see if it has been re-painted and then find out why it had to be re-painted. Also cars with new motors and turbos usually mean that they were previously modified, not maintaned or driven really hard and probably raced. If you come accros a deal like that again, be sure that you take it to a shop and have the boost levels and compression checked.
