4.88 ring and pinion set???

Well I've looked, I've hunted and now I'm asking.
were the heck can I find a set of 4.88 or higher ring/pinion gears
I'm not going any lower than a 4.88 gear so I need to find a set.

So can anyone tell me where I can
find a set or a good gear shop were
I can get them machined?

Would love the help,

Thanks, JR

I was thinking the same thing about fuel efficiency, but maybe he just wants a drag car and then it doesn't matter. Unfortunately though, I know of no one who makes those gears for the FD3S so you would be looking to go custom.

I believe Jesus Padilla runs a 4.80 gear. You call him names too?

Understand For Once

I don't know why I'm getting all this heat.
you don't know what I'm doing with my car.
It is going in a 6-speed for mostly drag car.
Trust me I'm not stupid, I know cars.
There are plenty of posts around here asking
about the same gears. I was asking for some help
finding them not opinions of people who don't know jack.

Japan mazdaspeed makes a 4.88 set or it is just rounded
from the 4.777 gears there they do make them.
Rotary performance had a 4.7 something but
the don't have them anymore and won't write me back.

I would rather not go to a ford rearend because I hate ford
but progress must happen so I was just asking.

posts
Auto to manual swap keep the 3.9's or get the 4.1's
Want to change gears in rear end. need help!

Hope that clears all the "I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THAT LOL" crap

Specail order part from JAPAN. Most of Tuner can get it. EX. RE AMEMIYA. FEED> knight sport. REVO tune. KSP. PAN SPEED.

and they dont make 4.88 either. they have 4.7 only

BTW MY Race FC got 5.1 final drive . A bitching to take care....

I have mistakenly posted about 4.88s in the past. I've driven a FD with 4.77s and 315 Hoosiers on it and dyno proved 360rwhp. In the dry the acceleration was explosive without wheelspin, even in first going straight.

The tires are taller than stock, so the 4.77s didn't make as big of difference as you might expect, still cruising rpm is higher.

dude, you gotta get off it. if jesus padilla got on here asking about 4.80 gears, im sure everyone would UNDERSTAND what he was doing. . . and im sure hed say, "this is for a drag racing monster." not, "hey, i just want them." and besides. . . why not make fun of jesus padilla. . . its not like hes GOD ROTARY and is gonna strike down on my humble little car for internet humor. geh, get a clue. . . your car isnt THE WORLD.

and, rx-boost, dont sweat this stupid crap. most people get on here to just poke fun. everybody gets poked at. we are a majority of guys, and thats what we do. you didnt "say" it was for drag racing in your original post, so people took it and ran. . . mostly due to the post count. . . they more than likely figured you to be some ricer wanting to "shift mad quick, yo" and all the whatnot.

also, about the ford rear end. i wouldnt go letting the ford rear end stop you. i think its the BETTER option. youll spend a fortune getting the stocker up to par for drag racing. . . when you could just get a for pumpkin.
