I'm gona paint my car in a few months, its currently a faded Sunrise red. I wanted to know if you guys thought that the Blaze Red looked better?

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
If the car is already Sunrise Red why change? If you don't change you don't have to worry about the underhood or jams.
Besides Sunrise red is a readly available touch up paint at any autoparts store in spray or bottle

The olds sunrise red is orangey... looks horrible under streetlights and parking lot lights.... seems to oxidize easily... I wouldn't even think twice about putting blaze red on!!!

"Sunrise red" isn't that orangy. "True red" is the really orangy one. I like it (well actually I hate all red cars, but in relative terms) because it is the traditional Japanese color of red. If you look at almost all Japanese things from the past 1000 years- the color of red lacquer is like "true red." Ian
PS, under many street lights my "true red" 86 na was primer gray. First time it happened I didn't recognize it was my car until I looked inside it!

When I painted my car, the Mazda reds were 4x as much as a GM Torch Red.
I painted mine Torch Red and I can't tell the difference when looking at the engine bay, the bay just looks a little dirtly, dingy while the rest of the car looks damn sweet.
The only difference is how much was left in my pocketbook.

When I get it repainted(due to numerous parking lot dings), I will go with the GM torch red. Love that red color on new 'Vettes and cheaper too!
Also, I like the red that Volvo used. Not sure what color code it was but the car was used(at the Volvo dealer lot) and it was screaming "I'm fast, ticket me". I drive a 'vert, so I don't worry about tickets

Blaze red all the way. There is NO comparison. My car was repainted in original blaze red earlier this year, pics below in nice sunlight. Look how nice
BTW, the sunrise red does have a lighter, orangish tint to it when compared to blaze red. Original blaze red cars that you may have seen, unless meticulously maintained, were probably faded almost pink and faded several colors over the body, so use my pic below as a guide to what it'll look like when new.

Blaze red too. My '88 SE was sunrise red and its not nearly as striking as the red S5's I have seen. My SE paint was near perfect too with minimal fading.

Blaze Red is good. Theyre are so many colors other than stock to chose from out there. I was going to repaint my black 88 GTU a darker black with candy brandywine flames across the hood but then I got a carbon fiber hood that I really dont want to paint over.

When I went to buy my '88 TII new, I really wanted red until I saw it in person. It was not the bright red I had expected, and the interior choices were terrible, so I purchased the white exterior. Went to the NY auto show when the '89's came out. Had to have the Blaze Red with black leather, so that's what I bought.
This was taken Aug. '03....All original.

My opinion:
Both colours suck. How about the metallic red from the RX-8? Looks absolutely breathtaking in the sun (almost as good as the metallic crimson on my car ).
