makes sense...maybe it was picking up alot of heat off the exhaust in that location? could be other factors involved?...worth a shot, if it isn't a long term solution it's not much work to adapt anyways.

probably better to use a waverunner tank. they're bigger, not funny shaped and usually mount to flat straight surfaces.

KTM 125 LC2 (Sting), built 1998 enough capacity 1,1 Liter. No heat problem from racing beat exhaust ever.

thanks...a little hard to come by in north america

ebay has some universal chinese cheap pocket bike gas tanks...approx. 6x5x3.5 inches =0.3usgal or 1.1 litre that look interesting...thinking that is a good size, reason being that if you go to a standalone that controls the electronic omp...there is no failure feedback like the oem ecu and easy to keep an eye on the oil consumption with a tank that is not too big..plus easier to mount.

seems a little small though, theoretically it should last you about 2 full tanks of fuel so i guess it might work.

what is the omp consumption rate?...somewhere i recall about 100:1 ...so 1 litre pre 100 litres of fuel...at 70 litre tank(s5) that wouldn't even be 2 full tanks ...hmmm well at least it's easier to just add oil to a small tank then to measure it out for the fuel at every fillup.

There was thread 2088-9 ish, where someone used the cold start tank for 2 stroke and in less than 6 months, it was eating the plastic thin and started to leak.

As far as dirty crank case oil...if your crank case oil is nasty something is wrong. Other than your typical blow by, rotary engine oil is not really subject to much abuse, compared to a piston engine.
On an S5, You'll use 1 quart of oil every 1,000 miles due to the oil metering system, combined city/highway. I hope that you are replacing that with fresh clean oil everytime!

i still don't know why anyone bothers with the OMP, i have premixed for about 12 years and it never seemed like a huge hassle to me.
