setting up the new innovate motorsports scg-!

So this device has a setting where I can set it to cut boost at any afr I set as a safeguard. I have a stock turbo on a ser 4. When I tune it with my safc what should I aim for for a safe afr at cruise and at under boost, also whats you'alls opinions on what I should set the unsafe (cut boost now) afr at? I've done some searching but havent had the best luck getting a definitive awnser to my q's so far. Thanks for any input fellas!

First you should find out what it does when it reaches boost cut. Does it cut fuel (bad)? spark (good)?

cruise AFR in the 14s is fine as long as it doesnt buck, and the general rule of thumb is 5psi is 12.5 AFR 10 psi is 11.5 AFR and 15psi + is 10.5 AFR

i wouldn't even set a cruise AFR target, you will just wind up fighting the thing. for in boost a target of 11:1 is fairly safe.

all it does is add a boost control solenoid to provide more pressure to the wastegate to dump boost, which is still not 100% safe if you have an issue with the wastegate itself or the wastegate is already running solely off of spring pressure. if you're running a stock turbo with creep this won't do anything for you at all.

personally i'd rather see it interrupt ignition via a relay that powers the coils, but the output signal is a duty cycle wave form, so no good for that. i suppose it still could be attempted but a 12v relay is gonna get hammered by the pulsing frequency, still doesn't address ignition cut fully anyways with a timing retard.

I should have been more specific, it only stops adding more boost when it sees a set threshhold. It deffinately has limitations compared to safegaurds of a standalone, but still a cool feature (IMO). Thanks for the replies

For the cruise afr target, I more was asking because I also have to set up a safc neo I just got and my car has 750cc secondaries

for cruising it is anything that the car likes, generally it is in the 14-16AFR range for cruising depending on the timing curve. once the car starts to buck then you know you have gone too far.
