Rising RPM Intake Adapter Kit

Hey everyone. I thought this was a pretty cool product and thought I would share it with everyone. I'm glad to see people like Mike are still thinking of ways to make new products for our cars. This adapter kit makes it possible to attach a third gen upper intake manifold to our S4 or S5 Turbo II's.

Don't really know what gains you could see from this product, but I like the concept.

There are all kinds of reasons to do it, but I'm going to be going down that path because the FD throttle body has a full range throttle position sensor. I hate having to rely on MAP rate of change to tune the accelerator pump on my ECU. It's just not fast enough for me.

^which ECU do you use that you can't run a TPS? Any map sensor is probably not fast enough for accelerator pumps.

Since the S4 TPS is only a narrow range, it makes it hard to use the TPS to run the accelerator pump. With a megasquirt, the accelerator pump can be based on either TPS or MAP rate of change. I have it set to 100% MAP right now, and there is a quick lean spot any time I stomp on the gas, so that's got to be fixed

^OHHHHHH You don't know about me sir. I made the S4 TPS work, with my standalone. This of course was after EVERYONE said it wouldn't work. On top of all that, I kept the stock OMP.

Yeah, I know about that. Unfortunately, you can't guarantee that your cam is going to make the plunger extend from completely shut to completely open in a completely linear way.

Actually, I can guarantee that. It works fine. With a standalone, you can calibrate the TPS as necessary.

My EMS plots a linear graph between full open and full closed. The TPS calibrator is a window that pops up and has you take the current reading closed, then take the reading open, and it does the rest. It doesn't let you plot anything in between unfortunately.

I'm going to give it a shot anyways. I enjoy throwing caution to the wind and seeing what turns out. How far off can it be anyways?

It's been under construction for a long time, and he hasn't responded to anyone's questions since. Simply disappeared.

Order these fuel rails from ffe. They are a similar product, but come in an instead of the stupid npt like risingrpm.

If someone can provide me with a sketch of the bolt pattern and Port locations on the FD manifold I can make some for cheap. I have made many parts for my rx7.

one area you may want to weld and add material and some port matching- done.
No need for an adapter

If you are really ambitious, you could do some tracings of the two different manifolds and apply them to a simple flat plate aluminum, drill the biggest hole you can to get the stock out, and then go at it with a dremel. The screw holes could easily be done by transferring and using a drill press. You would probably want at least a couple screw holes first to align the tracings.

I bet the end result would be the same performance wise.

Sounds like a plan. I look forward to it. Seems like it will be pretty easy to machine.

I have this adapter. You would need to machine offset studs too... Not so easy.
