ongoing injector troubles.
ok just pulled the injectors back out of my car and would like to send them off to a place to have them cleaned and tested but I noticed on them one says 10w and the other says 16w. What exactly does this mean? THey also have RP on the injectors. Any info would be great thanks. Oh these are 890cc injectors.

sorry about that man I've been having the same problem for a while trying to trouble shoot it with wayne and a few others so I just ASSumed everyone knew, lol. ANyways what happens is right at the 3500rpm (rtek1.7) cut on, the car starts sputtering, backfiring and hessitating horribly. My wideband goes from 12 to 21 back and forth real quickly and of course there is no power. Well the only thing I changed was going from 550/720 combo with old injector connectors to a 550/890 with new injector connectors. Of course I did something retarded and ASSumed that the 890cc injectors where low impedance so I wired in some resistors however I found out real quick that it was high impedance. so I took the resistors out and this is what is happening. I don't know if doing that could have messed up the ecu but I've check the voltage to all 4 injectors and they are getting the same exact voltage and when the secondaries kick in the voltage drops on them like they should so it all should be fine but its not. I've also checked the 890 injectors by putting them in the primary location and puting two cups under both injectors and turned the car over and there was fuel in both cups (same amount).
there are two numbers on both the injectors and they are exactly the same numbers
4233 and 17102768

I'm about to be pissed off! I just flow tested my injectors at a local machine shop and they said (and I saw) they where only spraying 50ml however the stock 550cc injectors flow at 80ml so I got jiped! Am I right in thinking this??? Is there any ml to cc conversion?

if you go here http://www.cruzinperformance.com/injsteps.html and look at the tubes with the differant numbers well on a 15 second test they flowed 50 ml. Thats all I know.

Figure that the stock injectors flow 550cc/min, cut that by 4 (15 seconds = 1/4th a minute), and you're at 137.5cc(ml). To get 80 would have to be around 60% DC. If this is what they test at (very likely, i guess.) Apply the same logic to your flow results and work back, this would be equivalent of 330cc's, which is a VERY common type of those GM Multec injectors you have.

hey guys thanks for the replies! Sonic thanks for that, I'm sure thats what they are because they look like some stock injector off of a GM oh well 200 bucks later I guess I learned a lesson. That was the first time to get ripped off by someone on this forum. Anyways I've got another set of 890s that a fellow rotor head here in town had, he let me barrow them so as soon as I modify them to fit in the rail (hopefully today or tomorrow) I'll try them to see if they work, if they do, marren here I come. Thanks again for the help! Karak, I tried them in the primaries and they sprayed just fine for 330cc injectors
