bad ecu? [pictures]

well i pulled my ecu to check if it was burnt. well this is what i found. is it bad?

what made you want to take the Ecu out and take it apart?
..edit>ok I know now...the harness thing.sorry.
are there any burnt components on the "other side" of the ecu?.
Solder joints are usually pretty good from the factory.

did you buy this car used? looks like someone has tried to fix cold solder issues. but stayed there a little long with the iron

+1 to Barkz. Looks kind of like burnt solder rather than fried circuitry.

Yea that looks like a fix. The new solder is shiny and you can see where flux ran out on the board

How many of you have opened an ECU up before you came in this thread and made an assumption? I don't know why, but those are higher amperage points and are like that in every ECU I've opened. Notice the marker marks next to the points, it's like they were double checked during production.
Bad ecu's that I've opened up will have noticeably brnt resistors or parts on both sides of the board.

That ECU looks okay.

looks like an unmolested board and nothing jumps out at me either. burnt components will usually leave the board a brown in the affected area.

i have also never seen cold solder joints inside the ECU's.
