Yeah so last time i adjusted my TPS i kinda forgot to replug the TPS plug back in and since then the car developed major hesitations, and constant backfiring. So today i decided to check the TPS and noticed the plug was unplugged so i plugged it back in and adjusted the TPS to within spec. So with the TPS being unplugged for this long you guys think that it had any longer term effect on my car?

well how does it run now that you connected it? i dont think it would have harmed anything so i bet it is fine.

well what ive noticed about these kinds of things is that it does not show an imidiate effect it seems to take weeks for it to adjust. The reason i know this is after i started driving my car with the TPS unplugged i noticed no change, its only recently that my car has started with major hesitations. So im thinking the hesitations and backfiring will be slowly diminishing as the car adjsuts once again.

I recently readjusted mine and it has had little if any effect. Do you think it will take a while to notice or should there be an immediate effect?

wont hurt a thing..seen s4 driven without it for months as well...effects with it off were backfiring and bad gas mileage..

...And a sticky Idle. As was with me when I found my TPS dead. After buying a new one, Idle was solid.

Like i said before, it seems that it takes a few days or so for the car to adjust to any changes like these. So give it some time and youll start to see a diffrence.

Whats cool is now the car will not backfire like before, and also i drove it hard today and no hesitations! So maybe its quicker than i thought.

If I unplug my TPS on my S4 N/A, the car will not drive. It seems to idle ok, but as soon as you give it gas it bucks and dies....

How bad is "bad" gas mileage for having a dysfunctional/missing TPS?

where the hell is the TPS? i just bought my GXL about 2 1/2 months ago, so im still learning all the basics

Shouldnt have hurt anything. Ive done this before too, and it had no ill effects.
