How bad is it to be driving on a bad wheel bearing?

Im pretty sure that my wheel bearing is gone but I currently have to drive home from school, 450mi each way and I dont have the money to fix it at the moment. How bad is it to be driving on it still?

If you can do it yourself it shouldnt cost more than $50 bucks and your time. Driving on a bad bearing that is obviously in bad shape isnt a good thing. The bearing could seize, etc.

If it is your front bearing....

Just don't do it man. That is gonna be $$$$$. You could hurt the bearing race.

Oh, how do you know your bearing is fragged?

Have you checked the torque on the front nut with the cotter key in it? If it is your front bearing.

From a previous thread, I think it's a rear bearing. PIA removing the assembly with the ABS sensor. Bearing has got to be pressed out.
No one can determine how long a bearing is going to last, especially one that is causing a vibration/making noise.
Good luck

Isn't the rear bearing a complete unit with the race inside the unit?

So, if it shat then it would not hurt the tri point hub?

the rear bearing is a sealed bearing.. and cost me 90.cnd funds for the bearing and 75cnd funds, to get it installed...when i picked up the car they told me that the rear bearing was a real PITA and if he had to do it again it would be double for labour.
