I've used a big *** chisel and a 5lb. sledge... but I didn't intend on usint the nut again. I have also used a pipe wrench with a big *** pipe cheater bar. This required a piece of angle iron bolted to the engine locking the rear counterbalance (engine conversion flywheel requires the auto trans counterbalance) and a buddy to stand on the angle iron. You may be able to do the same with a peice of angle iron bolted ot the flywheel to lock it. I just got pissed at how expensive the socket is and was determined to find a better (ok cheaper) way. Good luck.

I finally had to heat mine with a propane torch. Not red hot but a couple hundred degrees will give you a lot of expansion. I was also using a 3/4 drive on a 21/8 socket with 6 feet of cheater. Good luck

You can try first, using a sheet of metal and a few bolts to keep the flywheel from moving and then you can take a standard 1/2 breaker bar and weld a 2 feet pole to it. Then just use the momentum to break the nut. I have done that many times and it always works. If it still doesnt work, then get an impact and hit it a few times.
