I needed some practice so I figured I would draw up an adapter from scratch.

This design has not been tested to work and was dimensioned off of OEM Mazda gaskets.

This is for an S4 LIM to S6 UIM. I have IGS files linked bellow. Should be straight forward to test out if someone is willing to 3d print it or machine a prototype.

Sucks I'm stuck with that Darin Neagle piece of **** for now...

Why haven't you advertised or become a vendor on the forum? People have been asking for this!

I haven't drawn that adapter, I just only drew this S4 one last night. If someone sends me a brand new OEM S5 Gasket or an S5 LIM I'll be happy to do it.

The SP Engineering adapter bolted on fine for me. I haven't ran it on the car since I'm still on a stock top mount, but have you ran into issues with yours?

Is your question directed at me? Or ReFc?

1. Darin is a POS businessman, some things never change, even when they start to look promising. He had a moment of redemption then went back to his old ways of cutting off communicating and ******* people.
2. The offset bolts do not line everything up evenly. It's a crude design. I'm willing to bet they fit better on the original RisingRPM units than the ripped off SPENG version. They align "okay", but I had to grind them down significantly and spend tons of time spinning them to get the adapter to align with the LIM the way it was supposed to.

just out of curiosity has anyone seen anything about an adapter that would work with an s7 manifold or has managed to make any of the other possibilities work for one?

i had no idea the UIM was any different

from another thread ( the photos are missing )

Here is the upper intake manifold

Red circle here shows that there is no nipple for the AWS (accelerated warm-up system) and that there is no solenoid

Blue circle show the location of the purge control solenoid. On our cars, it is not located on the upper intake manifold.

Yellow circle shows that there are no pulley for the cruise control. Although I ain’t sure if this is japanese specific, someone correct me if I am wrong, I have only seen FD with cruise control so far. It is also gold instead of green

The green circle shows that there are no nipples for the vaccums in front and there is no place to connect the PCV valve (like the 95 version)

I believe it only works with either a Cosmo upper and TB or their upper manifold with a Cosmo?FD? TB. I'm not entirely certain. I would like to get one, but I'm on a budget (read: cheap)

not really worried about the other stuff mainly just the difference in the actual intake runners. the series 7 uim i have has the wider spacing in between the middle runners than the series 6, same as ACR's in post 44 of this thread https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati.../#post12038792

I still have not decided on what I am going to do. There is a company that makes a 2 piece adapter with orings and the whole bit that looks like it will work. The options really are to either bridge that gap and mill it, modify the lower to suit, or get an adapter.

This adapter may work, but since I have a series 7 manifold, I am unsure.

i saw that too but was also iffy about it since its intended for the series 6 manifold with the closer ports. i'm almost leaning towards making my own of aluminum bar stock and having the machine shop nearby make it perfectly flat when i bring my moped cylinder to get decked.

I looked up the FD upper intake gasket and I get conflicting answers. It looks like the gasket works for 93-02 intakes, but I have not bothered to purchase a gasket due to the potential of getting an adapter or something else worked out. Unless someone here has an old FD upper intake gasket they would like to send me for scientific research

I think I have exact dimensions of the S7 UIM gasket if you want them.

I would, but I also want to know if it is the same as the S6 gasket.
