Well, about to leave and go pick up the box! I had it delivered at my parents house because where I live it would have been stolen before the box had a chance of hitting the ground.
So going to go pick it up and then go to work and install this baby! Many pics and video to be had later!

Holy **** what a difference!!!
Throttle response is vastly improved, definitely WAY more power than before. It's such an improvement, it actually exceeded what I was expecting.
All I got to say is HOLY ***** that was worth the $300. Install pics to come...

Seriously styx and clokker, yall need to do this.
Very noticeable increase in power, throttle response is spot on. I went and drove around today again and was just a gasp. Best $300 I have ever spent on the car (besides the street port). As far as bolt on, 15 minutes of wiring and go drive, thats as easy as it gets.
I still cant believe what a difference that made. The butt dyno says 30hp, Damn I wish a Dyno was cheap! Maybe I can talk Chris at RP into a dyno run, he is a scientific guy.

You have my undivided attention.
Just getting my "new" engine ready to install will take all available funds for the next few months and I'm loathe to splurge too heavily on an untried shortblock, but if all goes well for both of us, we can revisit this in June or so.
Rather than hard-to-quantify butt dyno data, I'd personally be more interested to see if fuel consumption changes and if emissions are improved...both results I'd expect from a more efficient ignition.

The HKS Twin Power is a "twin strike" ignition system.
It senses an ignition event, and it fires it's own ignition trigger shortly after.
This is why there is only one splice into each coil - one leading and two trailings.
The other two wires are just power and ground for the unit.
Yes, this is how HKS claims you will never experience ignition failure if the Twin Power dies - the system just reverts to how your stock ignition used to work.
Versus almost any other CDI box installed, if the CDI box fails, the whole circuit is interrupted, and you'll KNOW something is wrong.
FD guys claim the Twin Power is the ****.
I personally have a problem with such a small unit providing enough ignition power to handle such responsibilities.
If this unit is so great, why does some of the best CDI ignition systems (i.e. MoTeC / Autronic) still install in series?
Also, MoTeC and Autronic CDI boxex are HUGE compared to the HKS Twin Power.
I really don't have the time nor the money to experiment with the Twin Power, but anyone with an oscope can get all the data.

Give me a week or two and I can give you some mileage data. First week might be skewed by lead foot.

So this week, I burned exactly 9 gallons of gas again. Same back and forth to work but with a little more lead in the foot, plus I had to make a 50 mile trip for work so I actually drove more miles with the same fuel consumption. I also drove the car harder as well.
