I want to know if I can instal a set or 6 point of 4 point racing harnessess in my car but dont want to spend 12-1500 dollars on some racing seats(nice ones that match my interior) kcan it be done with the stock seats. I have GXL seats in my 87 sport but I still have my original sport seats so I can swap them back.

Don't do it, its not safe. If you are going to do it, do it right. And did you mean, 4 or 5point? never heard of 6 point harnesses....but no, its not safe, stock belts allow you slide over in the case of a rollover....straps holding you to the seat are going to crush your skull in a rollover.

Forgot to add that "doing it right" would be a strong racing seat, REAL 3inch wide harnesses bolted in the stock locations, and or the roll bar/cage...and at least a 4 point bar to suport the car.

They do have 6 point harness, they are just like 5 pointers but they have two lower straps instead of one.

Cusco builds a cage, www.davidjanesracecars.com does all of our custom work, but for a NICE custom bar, I would go to someone that builds cages, bars, chassis' for a living..you got anyonelike that around? S&W builds cages, as well as many others...just look around man.

Trusting someone with your life is something I don't put in the hands of people not properly trained. I am not saying that your uncle can not weld, I'm sure he's great, but so are a lot of people....but a lot of people aren't certified for building something that will save you. Find someone that does this for a living, not a hobby. What is YOUR life worth to you.

I'm trying to think...I KNOW there are a few companies out there that build a 4point=main hood and rear hatch bars...but can't remember whom..I know they exist!! Just search around. As for getting it IN the car, it depends on the cage/bar set up, some you don't have to take out the interior, some you do..but where the bar mounts, it will have to be bare metal..doesn't mean you can't cover it back up. I will get up some pics, give me a while.

Oh mounts would be the main floor pan behind the front seats, and the rear bars would mount somewhere in the hatch, as for other points, front floor, braces that follow the roof line, windshield, dash..you get the picture.
