FL 1988 RX-7 convertible top question.

My convertible top was working great until yesterday. I was attempting to lower the top but it wouldn't go down(no sound either) but if I turned the switch to raise it there was a sound & it would attempt to raise.

This may sound like a stupid question but is the top up/down switch at fault or could there be something else in play here?

Btw, would it be possible to post a section on convertible tops that would include info on obtaining them, troubleshooting, part numbers etc in the FAQ section?

probably a dirty switch or relay, try pressing it about a hundred times.

Funny, I did just that & it's now working. For how long is another matter.

with anything that isn't used for a period of time, use is the best medicine. or just disassemble the switch and relay and clean the contacts.
