enjoying the sunshine we had today, had the windows rolled like halfway down while crusing through town. at a stop light some dirt head hippy rolls up on his bicycle. he gives me this scowl and says into the passenger side window "tell your car to shut the **** up!" light turns green and i rev it to 8k just to **** the dude off a bit more.

When I picked up my RX7 the person I bought it from had it at a service station because it didn't run. I went in and asked the guys that worked on it what was wrong with it and they responded "It has no compression." So I said, "It must need new seals." and the tech responded "Sure, you seem to know what your talking about." After that, I just walked away...

i thought when you have no compression you need new seals regardless, apex seals are still seals... ovbiously a rebuild is needed and "new seals" are needed (sometimes)

I have an old friend from high school who refuses, for some unknown reason, to ride in my RX-7. He's said something about it being a Mazda, but really? I'm not buying it. I think it probably goes back to a concert we went to years ago. I drove and he acted like I was going to kill us all. He's a bit of a wuss.

I had my 6 port turbo GTUs out today and had this guy stop me at a local burger joint. He told me that he had a Mercury Couger xr7 and it was the same exact thing as my rx7... i tried to expalin but he told me i didn't know anything about cars. I just smiled and told him to have a great day.

That's funny you should say that haha I have a story somewhat similar regarding an xr7. Around the summer I was hanging out with this girl a lot. The first time she got in my car she was like "lemme just tell you that you have the car I've always wanted." I was like omg really you jnow about these cars? And she's like yep, "ever since I saw this really fat guy that looked really funny driving one I've always wanted a mercury xr7" I was like -__- nonono this is a mazda rx7 please don't ever confuse the two. She was like oh.. and that was pretty much the end of that convo lol. I think my car got a little offended though, cause later that night when I dropped her off she closed the door on her hip hahaha. Now every time that happens I say my car is mad for calling it an xr7.
Incase anybody was wondering, I kept her around even though she confused my car for a mercury lol. She's my girlfriend now and we're very happy. She actually loves my car, she tells me she misses it when I have to drive the other cars my family owns when the weather is bad; heavy rain, snow, etc. lol

I just got new car insurance on my '89 GTUs and it labels the engine as a "4 Cylinder". My insurance with nationwide was getting too expensive, hence the switch, but it had the engine listed as a 2 rotor 1.3L. so just so you guys know, Nationwide is expensive but they know what's up!

before we went his friend had no faith that it would pass and was giving us a hard time

What I find humorous and aggravating at the same time is that us RX7 owners can be so meticulous and OCD that we make our cars appear as if they are piles (and people are ignorant).. For example, do other people check their oil levels at the gas pump? No. Do people understand that an off beat idle is because your motor is ported? No. How many other people do you see pouring 2 stroke oil in their gas? I'm sure most people see us poking around our cars constantly and must assume we think it's going to fall apart. When in reality, most of us are just that thorough.

And the fact that everyone assumes that these cars are junk because they blow up. And the first thing out of the persons mouth that "thinks" they know what they are talking about is "Oh, have fun with those Apex seals..."...

^ I check my oil like every month. I don't premix. I try to do the last amount of rotary bullshit possible on my car, and mine one of the more heavily modified engine-wise.
