you know, you might be able to get away with putting the fuse block in a protected case, then putting on the inside of the frame rail, or if you extend the wires a tad bit, you might be able to put the fuse block on the inside of the fender out of the way of the tires.
idk, im going to tear apart my wiring harness anyways cause im redoing my engine bay.
man, makes me miss my mistress (my first rx7) (rip)

The first would be the rather haphazard way the wiring is attached, which also dictates a certain amount of room below the block to allow for said wires.
The second is accessibility...it is necessary to be able to get to the box.
To severely compromise access just for sake of aesthetics seems silly unless the whole bay/car is meant to be for show.
It's possible our focus on this one component has magnified it from a small wart to major tumor.
Over on Jalopnik they occasionally have a supercar teardown feature and I'm always somewhat jarred by the fact that under the carbon fiber skin, even a car as exotic as an Enzo is pretty pedestrian looking. Nothing special- or especially pretty- about the wiring, hoses, relays, etc.
Cindy Crawford had a mole and made it part of her image...could be this fuse block is the RX's "beauty mark".

you don't have to mess with any wiring to relocate the fuse box, unbolt it, turn it 90 degrees from factory so the bracket that points at the fender (far right of you look at the box bolted to the strut tower), is now pointing at the front bumper, then lower it down, and bolt it to the frame rail (right above your AC lines that go to the condenser)...the fuse box wiring runs along the same path that the harness is allready running along on the frame rail.
remove the crappy electrical tape, and crappy looming, then either get a larger loom to house all of the wires for the fuse box, and harness, or make 2 smaller looms.
after you loom, wrap in new electrical tape, and zip tie together for a clean, professional look.
done.
BTW: the new coolant tank is perfect! awesome job.

actually the only thing polished are my IC pipes.
I was talking civil dont know why you got all defensive.
I will correct myself- on HIS engine bay it would help a little bit, on others it wont have as much of a impact, and on ones with the battery still there it cant be done.

I have my new battery cable terminated down at the very place you want the fuse box to go, so it's not quite as simple as it might be.
Cleaning up my "crappy" looming is on the list but not a priority ATM.
I'm currently prototyping a bracket to move the alternator down to the side of the engine.

I'm hoping to get 305hp out of it with the meth injection...then maybe in a year upgrade to a single ... I'm working on cleaning the engine bay tomorrow paint the exposed areas and hide the rest of the wiring...

I just tucked it away next to the intercooler under the piping so you cant see it....I used the existing mount to mount it... you cant even notice it unless you look under the piping from the right side...I put it there because all of the wires were long enough and I didn't have to extend anything....
