Seal recommendations

I am rebuilding my motor with new housings and seals. I haven't decided to use 2mm or 3mm yet. Heard 2mm is much better but there is always a debate.. any input on that would be appreciated. Also, which brand of seals? Originally I was going to use RA super seals and haven't seen a bad review upon them. However, talked to a few people and they said they wouldn't run those on new housings. Every time I search which brands to use there are a bunch of negative/positive things.. any clarification would be nice. I am going to run a single turbo 20b with about 15-20 pounds of boost.

2mm RA superseals!

3mm generate a great deal more heat. I'd steer clear of them.

Premix & keep an oem oiler hooked up.

running the superseals on 20b here w/ large streetport. Starts instantly runs like a monster. However, does have a little hot start issue, when engine is really really heatsoaked, super hot UIM in traffic, it seems to need to cool off for about 5-8mins before it will restart, but I believe this isn't related the RA seals. Likely just needs fuel pulled out of map against intake temps. But for what its worth, engine has around 5-6k miles, original housings rebuild w/ RA seals and pulls around -13inches vacc at 950rpm. Runs 15-20psi no issues just as you're looking towards.

Premixing around 1.5oz per gallon, no OMP

I got 45k on a set of regular Ra seals on my 91 vert I sold recently. The housings were in not so great condition before the rebuild back in 05. Since the rebuild, engine never had hard hot starting problems EVER. Recently engine sat for about 5 years before firing it up recently to sell it. Started right up as soon as the fuel hit. These are real world long term results.

I really want to run the RA super seals.. however, I've heard the classic RA seals are better. I heard that the super seals don't last long at all and I am looking for something that will last longer.

I have been running RA classics on all my motors and customer motors for over 10yrs. I have tested them under severe conditions like severe detonation and overheating. They wear housings less than the supers as well. Adding premix helps a ton as well.
I have yet to hear or see a motor come back or blow in my 10 years.
Seal technology and quality is getting better with chip motorsports seals coming out and steel science seals that are out. Although there is no real feedback or reviews on the steel science yet.
I like how mazda oem seals wear but they are very weak
Hope this helps
