I forgot to also state the obvious. The PPF too will have to be cut and re enforced...
Mine I got it re done. I welded at all the week spots at each end of the PPF by adding 1/4 inch steel and welded onto it. Also I got both pieces to be welded I the center then I put a piece of steel of the same width of the PPF and all it's length and also welded it. Then I put another piec like a band aid of 1/4 inch thick steel that wraps tightly along the center of the PPF.

Very important to reenforce each end of the PPF because with time I notice it starts to weeken the metal and eventually it snaps

As soon as i get my new oil pan in i will know this week. So take your time putting your motor together. I will take measurements and pics for us. My goal is to go back as far as i can so i too would love 6 inches.
But keep in mind that the filter might have to be relocated.

Here is a pic of mine. It's in the "stock" position with the Pettiit subframe. Should give you a good reference on how far back the engine is with Andrew's setup.

Hey Andrew, going to Deals Gap Rotary Rally this year? Drive down with Alex

Hey David!

Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Like the gentlem on here I got to finish her first but I will if she is good to go!

Also for the build just I small point but maybe you guys thought about it already... Depending on how high the motor sits as well as how far back it might change the angle alignment of how your PPF is set with your tranny and your diff which means in the end your diff might be sitting in a different angle than what it usually should be. This means all the diff braces been sold on this forum might not fit and your driveline is not straight which might wear out sooner the joints on de driveshaft. Just my 2 cents

Andrew

Received my oil pan and pickup tube from Chip Ursu. Looks great thanks Chip!

Decided to finally put together a zinc plating system. The yellow is just a die after its plated, The parts come out chrome looking after they are plated. Its a great way to protect your metal hardware big or small from the elements and unlike painting which can and will wear off plating stays forever and looks great!

The oil pan was done by Chip. He has a much larger setup for plating big parts.

Thanks ^
So I picked up a t2 trans. The t2, fd, and rx8 are like legos. so whichever i decide to use i will be using the rear half of the t2 trans because its easier to Modify the shifter.

Depends on power output. They are really weak like all the na transmissions are in the rx7's I do have a buddy with a turbo rx8 running 350hp with no issues. I think its all on how you drive and how sticky your tires are.
The t2 trans is the absolute strongest.

No, they are weaker then the FD trannies. The torque will kill them. Can-Saf tried running them in their 20b PP race car and it broke almost immediately. A PP doesn't make torque, so a streetport for example would just hurt it more.

Not that im aware of. You have to shop around. Most 3 rotors I have seen for sale is going between $3800-$7000. I have however found blocks like this for super cheap and in great running shape. I bought one a few years ago for $1000 and it was a runner also.

I'm working on moving my engine rearward as well. Any chance you can post details of your shifter relocation when you get it done?

OP teachermechanic ^^ is the guy who originally installed the 20B in my FD. It was his car. He moved the begone back and modified the inside of the tranny to relocate the shifter. If you want to know, he is the guy!

Salut Mario! J'espere que tu vas bien!!

Where its sitting right now is where its staying. I think im at 4-4 1/2 inches. Hood closes too
I agree for 6" you would need to shorten the manifold.
