Why the re-design? I tried another set (not yours) and they worked like in your video above, but as soon as they were under load with the wipers in contact with the windshield, the arm popped off from where it was connected to the motor. What feedback have you had on these holding up under load?

Windshield wiper Bushings Replacement!!

I have not had complaints on them popping out. The only complaints was the long arm bushing tabs breaking and that was why I redesigned to use rivets so I could get rid of the tabs. I can guarantee that they will not pop off, they take a lot of force to even pull them off by hand when installed. This is for the redesigned ones. I can post a video of me installing and pulling them off to see how they clamp onto the ball joint.

The redesigned ones are up already, you can find them by searching 79-85 rx7 windshield wiper mechanism bushings. I am so confident of the robustness of the redesign that I am not including 2 spares any longer.

Hi, I purchased these from you about a month ago Kutukutu1 but I'm having trouble getting them to stay on. I am only using the new bushing where the linkage connects to the motor, but it is very loose. I gave it a shot but after a few minutes with the wipers on high it fell off. Both bushings in the kit seem to be equally loose. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a remedy, or will have to find something else?

Hello,
Thanks for the post. I have only had one other person tell me the bushings were too loose. Please send me a pm and we can discuss further. I am in the process of moving but I think I have one set left which I could send you.

I bought a set of these a few months back on eBay. Installed one on my real low mileage 83. First cold days here..... SNAP. Broken.

I just ordered the whole rack from Mazda. Thanks for the effort. Hope others have better luck.

I wasnt really asking for a refund just saying I think they are a bit brittle. Hell I even put grease on the ball like they would have been from factory. I don't have anything to return even if you did a refund. No idea where the pieces went.

I know you were not asking for a refund. I don't like for anyone that bought anything from me to be discontent, so that is why I offered the refund.

Anybody that tries to make the community better I try not be a butt about. I appreciate your effort. Wonder if it's something I did wrong?????

They worked fantastic then first cold day snap. I treat anything like that like buying a used part. It might work it might not. If you want to do a refund the PayPal address was mikep28@insightbb.com and eBay name was mikep28. Completely up to you.

I purchased the headlight bushings from a difference person, overseas, and have the same problem with them just falling off under pressure. Sounds like there might be a common problem.

I do admit that I did not test them in the cold since it was summer. I will try to look into fixing that issue. So I can root cause the issue better, which design was it? The one that has multiple tabs or the one with 4 tabs and uses rivets? I will send you a refund when I know which design it was since they have different cost.

I've seen them, but never used them. Those seem to be injection molded, I would assume those would be more durable since they are injection molded. I will try my best to fix the cold performance issue. Maybe have looser tolerance in the ball pivot but tight on the clips so they don't pop off.

The ones I got never seems to "snap" together. It's like nothing holding them together. I'll buy yours next time.

It had rivets cause I bought a hand riveter from harbor freight. They also were grayish color from what I remember

That's the redesign one. I am glad that they work good in warmer climates. I will try and sort this out during the winter month and do some testing. I'll send you a refund later today. Thanks.

Hello again everyone.
I have 2 sets of bushings left up on eBay. If you're in dire need of bushings don't wait no look them up on eBay. Thanks to everyone that has bought a set and supported me.

Hey guys. It pains me to see members that are out of the state pay an exorbitant amount to ship the bushings international or not get them at all. If anyone that is international wants to help out the local community and get a bunch of bushings so the members in that country do not have to pay the high shipping cost, please PM me. I am willing to work with you for a lower cost and direct international members your way. Thanks.

Interesting, never tried them. I stopped selling these due to poor cold weather performance. Have not had time to develop them further. This looks like a good alternative if they work.

Hey all. I finally got around to reworking the design. They are much tighter fit. I am doing some testing to make sure they dont fall off or break. Post up if you're interested in a set so i know how many sets i need before i put them back up for sale. I will post some pictures in a future post. thanks

Thanks to all those that have bought and continue to buy the headlight bushings. Your support is very much appreciated.
