I think there were only 2 types of wheel for the RX-7... the nasty looking 30 spoke or whatever, and the aluminum ones with the 4 spoke and black paint.

He just listed 9 different wheels used on 1st-gens

The rotor wheels were standard equipment in some countries (South Africa comes to mine) IIRC.

Ten thousand would be more believeable, but I don't know.

Regarding the rotor wheels...Is'nt it funny how in places where they are are standard equipment, Rx-7 enthusiast probably have them just lying around...Stacked in back of the garage and forgotten- just like my two sets of stock wheels are.

I would LOVE to get a set of those rotor wheels!

We have got to get Mazda to release those molds. We need those wheels. The rotor wheels are ******* SWEET. I am now no longer in search for a MINT GSL-SE... but a set of those rotor wheels.

The molds were probably destroyed LONG ago

I've seen them in person. They're not very good looking in person, they're just big slabs of aluminum.

those are pretty cool. I have another question for you first gen historians. Was there an RX7 GT made in Japan? and are they rare?
