Please help!!

A little about the car, is an 85 GS with a 12abp, it has a 48 IDA, rb headers, no resonators 3 inch mid into a rb power pulse muffler, MSD 6al with direct fire, holley blue fuel pump and regulator at 4 psi, weber 48 has 170 main jets, f11 emulsion, 120 idle jet holders 65F9 idle jets, BUR9EQ leading plugs, 22° timming, the problem I am having is that it idles like crap, plus it has hesitation that starts at about 7k rpm it clears up and goes all the way to 8500-9000 rpm no problem after it gets over the hesitation, I just can't figure out the problem, new plugs, new leading coils, new wires, anyone has any idea of what might be wrong? I disconnected the trailing plugs and did not fix the problem, also sometimes the rmp gauge jumps around, that's when I drive it hard with the trailing plugs hooked up, otherwise I wouldn't know if it jumps or not.

rpm gauge jumping says youre ignition might be arcing somewhere. Mine does this when my spark plug wires are bad, lol.

Check your pickups/advance mechanism, make sure it's not sticking or out of spec.

Right now the ignition does not have the springs, but is not locked, DivinDriver do you think that could be the problem? Also what is the spec of the magnetic pick up?

Update!

Problem solved, I went one size up on the air jets and now it revs up smooth pass 8k! I still think is running way too rich just by the smell of the exhaust. Took out the mid pipe and replaced it with the dual long primary section with the resonators, idles so much better now as well, this Saturday I'm taking the car to the muffler shop so they can fix the old mid pipe, dual 2 inch without the resonators and see if I can gain a bit more power, how much hp do you guys think I have judging by this situation, I did a 40mph roll against a new v6 Camaro and I pulled on him and he couldn't catch me lol, I tried to do the same against a v8 Camaro and I pulled on him until I hit 80mph thats when the camaro took it.
