need some guidence on my fender flare project
ok so iv cut some flares off a car i picked up.
I was not sure as to how i was going to go about this so i cut most of the quarter panel out. so i can allways down size it for a good fit, now i want some sorta guidence on hows small i should cut it down how i should mount it what kinda method i should blend it in just some general pointers on what i should do..
heres a picture of the fender flare it is custom sheet metal flare that has been spot welded on and blended into the quarter panels.
i cut 2 1/2" above the body line on the rear quarter and at lest 2" away from the flare crease
fender cut out
back side you can see the spot weld's
the car i will be putting my body kit and fender flares on
so please if you have any helpful tips or questions please do..

You don't want to add the rusty part from the old car so just cut back to the flare and work with that. Its easier to blend in curved areas than flat areas so don't worry about the union of the two pieces for body work, just make sure its attached well. Having fully welded is better so moisture can't get behind the body filler.
Leave as much as your car as you can. If you can, just bend the metal to clear tires.

update
i will probaly have to cut it where the spot welds are to make it work.
the reason i left a 1" is im not totaly sure what im doing so i left room for error
playing around might have to cut more off the flare.
this shows how the front fenters are
my daughter she loves the rx7 shes defintly gonna be a rotarynut

You don't need to weld, steel rivets make a great bond with none of the risk of welding. Check the cuts and technique I did on my fenders prior to the flare install. Very strong and easy to do.
