Cool I picked up my 1985 Mazda RX-7!

Hey Guys,

I picked up my first RX-7 this week! Its a 1985 Mazda RX-7 12a with a 5-Speed. I got it in trade, but it was being sold on craigslist for $1000. It has it's issues, that I need to address, but it has virtually no rust which was the big thing for me!

Anyway here is a video of me loading the RX-7 onto my trailer. Honestly I love my trailer, but I could do with getting a different trailer . . . but it works.

Here are some pictures of it currently, it's not going to be staying this way for very long!

Let me know what you think!

Thanks
Grant

Welcome, and congratulations.

Looks like a solid foundation for a good project car; plenty to do that it'll really feel like its "yours" when you're finished.

I couldn't agree more, with basically no rust only very minor surface rust in small places I thought this was a great canvas to start with!

Thank you! Also how could you tell it was a GS Model, I've been trying to figure that one out for myself? Also what is the Deals Gap in April?

Thanks

Power mirrors but no sunroof. You also have a push button hatch release, I'm sure. Google "Deals Gap Rotary Rally". More fb's is always good.

Look up the OGTA thread in the SE section. Yes, you'll be defiantly there. Nice typo.

Arg autocorrect on my phone can be so annoying at times, I didn't even notice.

Yeah the first few vehicles I put on the trailer were Jeeps and were tall enough that I could open the doors, didn't realize that problem until I put my brother's Taurus on the trailer and realized I couldn't open the door.

Honestly I've been thinking about selling the trailer and getting a flat bed one.

I hope you were impressed that my 6'5" frame was able to get out the window!

Nice ride. If you're in RTP we could meet up sometime. My office is over there and I come over
occasionally for work. I drive an 80 SA if the weather is good. May be over there next Tuesday.

Also, besides DGRR, theres B3R and also the Charlotte Cars and Coffee.

Thank you for the great links! Yeah lets meet up some time but I want my FB running better first, have a couple issues that need immediate attention before I feel ok with the RX-7 anywhere!

Factory rear lip spoiler = rare find!

The rest of the 'rice' is overdone - Red Bull sticker, headlight 'treatment' and whatever is stenciled on the header panel, but that's easily corrected.

Looks like a nice find,
