How much HP?

love the braaaap
What is your definition of a decent streetport? With just the carb and exhaust it might be making about 130-140hp at the flywheel. Power gain from the streetport has a lot of factors involved. Best guess is possibly 150hp at the flywheel.

Paul Yaw quoted a stockport 12A with bolt on upgrades (exhaust, igntion and Yaw Carb/mani) at 150hp at the flywheel. I ran that setup and it felt evey bit what was quoted. My stockport 13B with the exact same setup ran a dead heat drag race with my buddies GSR powered Civic which was the same weight and about 180hp.
Add a streetport to the 12A and the numbers were supposed to climb up to 175. Mind you, thats PEAK hp and thats not measured at the wheels, like most people prefer to do.
It sounds ridiculous since most engines these days dont respond like that, but its probably accurate considering the 12A was pretty strangled down having been sold during the dark years of smog control devices.

My car has a stock port with the mods in my signature and dynoed at 134 whp. Figure the loss
percenttage at 12% and your at around 150 bhp or so. Add in a SP and I would say add maybe
15 or 20 to that so, 165 to 170 would be pretty close.

i agree, a stock engine will do about 150 at the flywheel with the carb and header, add the port and you could be around 170, but that's flywheel.

damn it was a couple years ago, but i hit 114whp 109 tq on the stock 12a that came in my car with 160k miles on a long primary exhaust and stock nikki with all emissions removed and mechanical secondaries.
also rebuilt the engine with a monster streeport and a holley and power difference was insane so i think 170hp is possible but it will take some work

With the rebuild and straight through setup you might be seeing amazing performance gains....compared to the lack of power you probably were experiencing due to compression issues & obstruction from build up.
I wish I had the time right now just to continue stripping everything down and send stuff off for a rebuild. Congrats on having a good foundation to build on boss.

I have a 79' rx7 4sp manual. Has a monster streetport, carb intake kit for a weber 48ida, rb headers, custom dual exhaust piping to a rb muffler and a gsl rear end. Im not looking at 200hp at the fly?

I guess the only way to find out is dyno it. For being 140 it feels a heck of alot faster than that. Im going to research this because people say to hit 200hp, at the fly, is possible with out forced induction or nos.
