Best Oil Stop Leak Product?
Hello all,
My '82 continues to leak oil from both rotor housings. I've tried 2 different stop leak products, but no joy so far. Anyone have something they swear by? I'm going to make a final attempt to halt the stoplight smokescreens by switching to 20W-50 and running whatever magic potion you guys prescribe. After that, I'll just stop caring about it.
So far I've used Bardahl's (or Barr?) stop leak and something by CarTech, IIRC.
Thanks,

Dont know of any internal additive that will slow down leak. However, Permatex makes a
product called Form-a-seal. Clean area of all oil and spray this into the leaking area. Supposed to fill the leaking area with a rubber barrier to stop the leak in minutes. Worth a shot. Believe it is avaliable at most Napas.

Update: I switched to Castrol 20W-50 and 2 quarts of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer. The smoking has greatly diminished, almost to nothing. When I get a chance, I'm go to degrease the problem areas again to see what sort of leakage is coming through now. Hopefully one dose is all that's necessary, because I sure don't envision paying $10 x 2 quarts every oil change for the Lucas.
On the other hand, I observed slower acceleration immediately after changing the oil from 10W-40. It was very obvious. Whether that was a short term effect that's improved I couldn't guess, but it certainly was there at first. I wasn't predisposed to expect that effect.
