Normal Oil Pressure?

Hi there, 84 S-model 12A Nikki Carb Emissions removed. Is this the normal oil pressure in the picture? It goes up to almost the 60psi mark on acceleration. Pic was taken at idle:

factory Service Manual states that idle oil pressure should be 13 to 38 psi. Your guage looks like it is showing about 15, a little toward the low side but not to bad, I drove for about ten years with similar pressure at idle, but now since I rebuilt the engine with a high flow oil pump and higher pressure oil regulators mine is much higher. Yours is fine though especially if you have high milage. If you are not using 20w50 you should be.

looks fine to me, my rebuilt '86 13B is about the same... ~20psi at idle, but climbs to 60+ at higher RPMs... my old '82 12A w/ ~100k miles and with modded regulators would hit 60psi at cold idle w/ 10w30 and would go well over 90psi over 6k warm :o im supprised i didnt blow up my OE 30 yr/old oil cooler lines, LOL

This is a good idea. Honestly, as long as the needle stays in one place and doesn't fluctuate while idling, and increases when you accelerate, you should be fine unless you have a much more elaborate setup or are racing. For comparison's sake, after I installed my FMOC my oil pressure gauge idles at 60 psi consistently and accelerates to probably 95-100 psi. That's higher than a lot of people here are reporting, but I'm not too concerned. It used to be a lot lower when I still had the beehive oil cooler, and definitely fluctuate more as well (most likely due to the oil leak I had).
